Our community is still growing, but there is one problem that seems too big to solve without making unwanted changes to the community itself.
Speeding is not an HOA problem, it is a Country Walk community problem that every homeowner needs to help address. On Halloween, several vehicles were reported to have been flying through the community well over the 15 MPH speed limit.
We have several families who regularly tell others to slow down, but if you see it, you have to do the same.
If our community is going to remain safe, speeding has to stop. The alternative solution is not something the HOA wants visit, but it will only take one accident involving a child or property to force that decision.
Remember if you have visitors, let them know there is a limit. You are responsible for your guests.
It should also be noted that the front entrance and the turn from the back of the community toward the front entrance is not a race track. The speed limit is for the entire Country Walk neighborhood. Furthermore, the speed limit does not go away when the sun goes down. Too often there are cars flying through CW at night. That has to stop as well.
Recently there has been several videos being sent to the HOA from a home on Norris Street. That too is not a race way and there are children that live down there.
The only option we have to reduce the speeding is speed bump installation. That is money we do not want to have to spend, so again, take control of the neighborhood and do your part, call people out for speeding when you see them.
We need to take ownership of the community as members of the community. Everyone of us can play a part because the alternatives to keep our children, pets, ourselves, and our property won’t be free…or appealing.
