Good day, fellow Country Walk homeowners, it seems we are “almost” out of the cold, but we are not there just yet.

What we are in the middle of is snake season! Yes, that’s right. Sadly, the pesky slitherers will be coming out of their holes to terrorize most of us.

We already have had several reports of snakes in the area; there isn’t much we can do given our proximity to the swamps and nature preserves around our community. It’s best to remind your kids that the smallest of snakes tend to use more venom than the older ones.

For the most part, our community tends to deal more with black and rat snakes, but water moccasins are not out of the question, given the water we have around us. Please take the time to educate your kids.

For homeowners, it is recommended to buy snake repellent, available at Lowe’s or other stores. Simply sprinkle it across your garage door and again around the interior of your garage. That typically will keep them out. For the next month, you may need to put more down than just one time.

For most of us, we won’t see many, but we wanted to remind you that they are out there and coming out as the weather gets warmer!
